Problem
Choose a problem.
A problem is a set of constraints, the inputs they evaluate, and the winners you want to be optimal. Pick a built-in stress system and a language, import a tableau file, or bring a language set from the catalog.
Tableaux
No tableau yet.
A tableau lists every candidate for one input against the constraints, with the count of violations in each cell. Drag a constraint header to re-rank it and the pointing hand ☞ moves to the new optimal candidate at once; the winner you chose is the highlighted row, and the tableau says whether it is generated. The first fatal violation of each loser is marked with !.
Verdict
Nothing solved yet.
OT asks whether some ranking of the constraints makes every winner beat its competitors; HG asks the same of a weighting. The answer is a Hasse diagram of strata or a bar of exact weights — or, when none exists, a certificate showing why.
No typology yet.
A factorial typology is every language the constraint set can generate on these inputs, found tableau by tableau with each partial language checked exactly. Run it to see which patterns OT and HG predict, and which only HG does.
